YYachts nominated for Int. Yacht & Aviation Awards

With the YC/Tripp 90, the German shipyard has been listed at the International Yacht & Aviation Awards 2022.

Immediately after the YYachts flagship left the shipyard, the Tripp 90 was nominated for an award. At the International Yacht & Aviation Awards, the 29.77-metre-long slup is listed in the category "Sailing yachts up to 40 metres". Dirk Zademack, Managing Partner of YYachts, is delighted: "A nice acknowledgement for us and the work of the designers. I now hope for as many votes as possible."

The yacht's naval architecture and exterior lines come from the drawing board of US designer Bill Tripp. He designed the yacht - one of the largest sailing yachts ever built in Germany - for an American client who wants to use the yacht for both - racing and worldwide cruising. The goal in the development of the Tripp 90 was competitive performance on the regatta circuit combined with comfortable sailing. This is achieved through YYachts' usual and consistent lightweight construction: the Tripp 90's hull, deck, internal structure and rig are all made of carbon. The interior of the Tripp 90 was designed by Winch Design from London; it is spacious, minimalist and open in layout and benefits from plenty of natural light. With stylistic inspiration from the East Coast of the USA and Scandinavian influences from the middle of the last century, as well as the use of soft leather and light oak wood, the ambience exudes an understated elegance.

Incidentally, the International Yacht & Aviation Awards are not judged by a small panel of experts. Shortlisted entries are presented online and released for voting. "Instead of a panel of five or six scene experts, we have literally thousands of industry professionals involved," explained Joanne Beedles, editor of Design et al and thus also patron of the International Yacht & Aviation Awards. The winners will be crowned at a ceremony next year.
