YYachts manufactures 90-foot individual structures

The Greifswald shipyard is implementing a design by Bill Tripp with an interior by Andrew Winch in its Custom Division.

YYachts continues the successful cooperation with Bill Tripp. In the Custom Division of the Greifswald shipyard, a 90-foot-long sloop made of carbon is currently being built, the exterior design and construction of which comes from the computers of the American designer. The yacht with an interior by Winch Design is being built for an American customer who wants to use the yacht for regatta sailing as well as for worldwide cruising.

The new build called Tripp 90 is another yacht that is being built in the Custom Division of the Greifswald shipyard. Previously, the 22-meter-long “Eugen Seibold”, an innovative research ship for the Swiss Werner Siemens Foundation, was built there.

The goal when developing the Tripp 90 was a competitive performance on the regatta course, combined with comfortable sailing behavior. This is achieved through the consistent weight savings common to YYachts when building and expanding the yacht: the hull, inner structure and rig of the Tripp 90 are made of carbon.

The owner attached particular importance to the design of the deckhouse - his wish was to be able to look out to sea while sitting in the saloon. Bill Tripp therefore drew a heavily glazed deck saloon, which not only takes into account the wishes of the owner, but also floods the interior with plenty of daylight.
