Eight yachts. One fleet. A milestone debut at Europe’s most prestigious superyacht regatta.
We are proud to announce the world premiere of the YYachts Cup — our own class within the Superyacht Cup Palma Richard Mille, taking place from 24 to 27 June in Palma de Mallorca. Eight YYachts will sail together for the first time within the superyacht fleet, marking a landmark moment for our shipyard and our community of owners.
The timing could not be more fitting. The Superyacht Cup Palma Richard Mille celebrates its 30th anniversary this year — and YYachts marks its 10th. Two milestones, one extraordinary occasion. With 23 yachts already confirmed for the overall event and a waiting list open, the regatta is set to be the most celebrated edition in its history, hosted at the prestigious, newly renovated Club de Mar-Mallorca in Palma.
The YYachts Cup fleet brings together five Y7s, two Y8s, and one Y9 — representing nearly the full breadth of our range on the water simultaneously. YYachts will compete within its own class start, embedded in the broader Superyacht Cup Palma Richard Mille programme. The event is also conceived as a rendezvous for the wider YYachts family — owners, their families, and friends gathering in one place, on and off the water. The focus extends well beyond racing results: the shared evenings in Palma, the atmosphere of the bay, and the time spent together are as much a part of the occasion as the sailing itself.
What makes this event stand out is not just the sailing, but the unique atmosphere it creates. With the YYachts Cup we are bringing family and friends together, both on the water and ashore. It’s about sharing unforgettable moments.
YYachts founder Michael Schmidt has competed at the Superyacht Cup Palma Richard Mille twice himself, on two different Y8s. His experience on the water — and the spirit he found there — was the direct inspiration behind the YYachts Cup. “The response from our clients has been incredible,” he adds. “This is exactly the kind of sailing we build our yachts for.”
Mallorca holds a special place for YYachts. Our design office and the After Sales Service is based on the island, and many of our owners keep their yachts berthed here. It is, in every sense, a second home — which is why we are proud to support not only our own fleet, but the Superyacht Cup Palma Richard Mille and its organizers as a whole.
Built for exactly these conditions — open water, reliable trade winds, and the warm Mediterranean light — our carbon sailing yachts combine lightness, speed, and refined elegance. From 20 to 30 metres, each YYacht is designed to deliver the pure experience of sailing at its highest level.
Registration for the YYachts Cup is currently closed. Interested owners are welcome to join the waiting list by contacting us directly.
