YYachts also offers exciting apprenticeships. Every year in August, apprentices start at YYachts. They are trained as boat builders in the luxury carbon yacht shipyard. Managing Partner Dirk Zademack comments as follows: “To be able to meet the growing demand for our yachts, we need to build up staff. In the long term, apprentices are very well suited for this because they get to know and internalise our standards and mechanisms right at the beginning of their career. I am particularly happy about our new apprentices every year.”

YYachts is one of the world’s largest manufacturers of luxury carbon yachts between 70 and 100 feet. Our employees have made this strong market position possible. The yacht building history of YYachts founder Michael Schmidt spans more than 40 years. In the 1970s, he managed the European production facilities of CYC Yachts, the world’s leading manufacturer of sailing boats. In the 1980s, he began building super-light racing boats with which he won the Admiral’s Cup and numerous other regattas. After the reunification of Germany, he went to the East and built a new shipyard from scratch. In 2016, he founded YYachts. Since the foundation, numerous jobs have been created – at the shipyard in Ladebow/Wieck on the Baltic Sea or in our office and service centre in Palma de Mallorca.
