YYachts presents new flagship

The Greifswald shipyard includes the Y9 in its portfolio. The first Y9, a luxury yacht made of carbon, has already been sold and will be delivered in winter 2021/22.

Y Yachts is still on the upswing and is expanding the portfolio. The shipyard's new flagship, the Y9, complements the model range upwards and also follows the corporate philosophy of reducing a yacht to the essentials without compromising on comfort.
The exterior design and construction were developed by Bill Tripp, while the interior design is the result of a collaboration between Norm Architects and Design Unlimited.
Like all Y Yachts models, the Y9 is built entirely from carbon fiber, which optimizes its performance and makes it extremely competitive. Y Yachts founder Michael Schmidt says: "With its length of 90 feet, the yacht has an interesting rating and is sure to win several trophies at the St. Barths Bucket, the Superyacht Cup or the Maxi Rolex Cup".

With its transversely arranged tender garage in the stern, the Y9 creates an incomparable volume and even has a separate owner's apartment, which consists of a private salon, a dressing room, a bedroom and a bathroom with double washbasins including a separate shower. A maximum of privacy is guaranteed, which the owner can enjoy with family or close friends.
Great emphasis was also placed on the design of the crew area. Since there is an unwritten rule in yachting: "Happy crew, happy owner", the crew cabins on the Y9 were designed to be extra large, with well thought-out storage space and an additional crew room. For example, the captain's cabin can be converted into a saloon during the day - the rooms on the Y9 do not have to fulfill a single predefined purpose.
Following this concept, the two interior design variants can be individually designed with the design department of YYachts in order to meet all customer requirements and to preserve the exclusive style of the boat.

For the look of the interior, Norm Architects from Copenhagen and Design Unlimited from Lymington created an elegant Scandinavian look that follows the principle of "gentle minimalism" - oiled fabrics and panels in oak and gray determine the color palette. Katrine Goldstein, Managing Director of Norm Architects, says: "The design of the Y9 already follows the award-winning Y7, but it is much more complex and goes deeper. The Y9 will be a luxurious retreat to avoid the constant hyperstimulation that our everyday life entails, Mark Tucker, Founder of Design Unlimited, added: "Customers will appreciate the authenticity of our design and the sustainable materials we recommend. People are increasingly orienting themselves towards nature: taking from nature and the." Giving back nature. This principle is particularly widespread in the luxury market ".

The first Y9 is already under construction and will be launched in summer 2021. It expands the shipyard series and becomes the big sister of the Y Yachts family.
