In time for the summer season

Y7 # 10
At YYachts another Y7 has been delivered. She shows some very special features.

Just in time for the summer season YYachts launched a brand new Y7 into the Baltic Sea off Greifswald. She was built in cooperation with the US-American designer Bill Tripp, one of the most renowned naval architects worldwide.  The new Y7 combines - as her already delivered sisters - comfortable sailing behaviour with competitive sailing performance, also on the regatta course.

A displacement of only 29 tonnes, almost 300 square metres of upwind sail area and a generous 700 square metres of downwind sail area keep the yacht moving even in light winds. Through the lead ballast, she is very stable and heels little, which makes her very pleasant to sail.

The Y7 was created for long family vacations, able to sail alone or with a very small crew to assist the owner. As a standard, the carbon yacht is of course also equipped with carbon fibre masts and booms as well as with the typical YYachts garage across the stern.

On deck this Y7 is made of wood from Lignia, which comes from ecologically sustainable cultivation. Lignia is a perfect alternative to teak whose suitability has already been tested for six years in Florida - in great heat and high humidity. By the way, the Welsh manufacturer is so convinced of its product itself that he gives a 50 year guarantee.

Another very special feature is the installation of an Oscar system. This camera uses artificial intelligence to identify objects in the water that are not visible to conventional radars and sonars. The system is connected to the autopilot and thus avoids obstacles without any further intervention by the helmsman.

Below deck, the Y7 also has a very modern atmosphere. The interior design is the work of the Danish, award-winning Norm Architects. The Copenhagen designers created a reduced ambience with a Scandinavian touch and used two different types of wood for the floor and panels as well as light colours to create the most generous feeling of space.

Due to an upgrade of the existing client this Y7 is immediately available to a new owner.
